EJC 2010 in Joensuu, Finland
EJC 2010 - Setup and Saturday, 24.07. On July 24th 2010, the 33rd European Juggling Convention (EJC) officially started! Quite a few people had already arrived the day(s) before and were eager to get into the big (!) gym and start juggling... |
EJC 2010 - Sunday, 25.07. Sunday, the day of the parade! The time between the end of the cheerful parade and the opening show in town was a perfect opportunity to relax in the sun and cool ones feet in the water... and in the evening, the 'regular' shows started with performances by Wes Peden and Marco Paoletti. |
EJC 2010 - Monday, 26.07. For all EJA members, Monday was busy with meetings. The most important decisions: Ali Close from UK is the new EJA president (gratulations!) and EJC 2013 will be held in... Toulouse, France! In terms of shows, the Finns and Friends special stage and the first open stage offered lots of entertainment. |
EJC 2010 - Tuesday, 27.07. Like in the days before, sun was shining bright on Tuesday. Nevertheless, 17 teams competed in the volleyclub tournament on a relly hot, sandy beach. The semi-finals finished just in time for the great m˛ show of compagnie Ea eo, followed by the second open stage and the final hours of Rumpelstiltskin! |
EJC 2010 - Wednesday, 28.07. Wednesday: more EJA meetings, less convention photos. Again. We managed to sneak out for the hilarious "Shake That" flairtending show behind the gym, though. And after missing the remaining shows, heading for the beach in search of a party was a safe bet... |
EJC 2010 - Thursday, 29.07. Finland, Scandinavia. Probably a cold place, right? Wrong! On Thursday, Joensuu proved this by warming up to 37,2 degree celsius - the hottest day in Finlands history. Time for a massage or watching one of the shows by Luke Wilson, Sakari Mannistö and Jay Gilligan. Or the light night and fight night! |
EJC 2010 - Friday, 30.07. On Friday, the European Juggling Games took place in a big amphitheatre next to the campground. The rest of the day was packed with shows: Team Renegade Design Labs and the open stage on the gym stage, afterwards the first ever EJC fire gala show in the amphitheater. Hot! |
EJC 2010 - Saturday, 31.07. All good things must come to an end. Before many people had to leave EJC quite early on Sunday to catch their flights, Saturday offered one final day of EJC at its best: workshops, juggling, chilling with friends and of course the 'official' program, the big EJC 2010 gala show! |
